Before You Submit

To help ensure software is available when needed, please review the requirements below before submitting your request.

Windows 11 Compatibility

All requested software must be compatible with and certified for use on Windows 11.

Licensing Documentation

A valid license is required for all software installations.

Please provide the applicable licensing documentation, including:

• A copy of the license agreement, purchase confirmation, or licensing terms

• License keys, activation codes, or account information, if required

• Download links or installation files

For freeware, open-source, or vendor-provided educational software, please include documentation or a screenshot from the vendor’s website confirming that the software may be installed and used in an academic lab or classroom environment.

Submission Timeline

Submit requests at least four weeks before:

• The beginning of the semester in which the software will be used, or

• The first scheduled date the software is needed,

whichever occurs first.

This lead time is necessary to review compatibility and licensing requirements, test the application, schedule deployment, and complete installation before the requested course or event date. Access to lab and classroom computers may be limited during peak academic periods.

Late requests may not be completed in time for the requested use date.

IT and Faculty Responsibilities

IT will:

• Review submitted software, compatibility, and licensing information

• Install approved software on the requested systems

• Verify that the application launches and functions at a basic level

Faculty and requestors are responsible for:

• Providing complete and accurate software, licensing, and installation information

• Ensuring the software is appropriate for instructional use

• Supporting the instructional use of the software in their courses

• Testing the software and any related course materials before the first class session

Plug-ins and Course Websites

Faculty and staff are responsible for confirming that any required plug-ins, browser extensions, web-based tools, and course websites function properly in the intended lab or classroom environment.

We strongly recommend testing all course-related websites and software on a lab computer before the first scheduled use. If assistance is needed during testing, please contact the IT Service Desk.
