UHD Scholars Academy - Student Research Conference

Student Research Conference (SRC) 2027

The Student Research Conference is open to all undergraduate and graduate research students. The purpose of the 25th Annual UHD Student Research Conference (SRC) is to showcase scholarly activities and special academic projects undertaken by UHD undergraduate and UHD postgraduates. Qualifying activities interlude senior capstone research projects, research projects completed as part of internships, independent or directed study at UHD, poster presenters who have extended their research, upper-level research-oriented lab courses, senior type or graduate level projects, or any other research on and/or off-campus. The conference is organized and sponsored by the UHD Scholars Academy with funding from the Scholars Academy grant, and UHD.

The Student Research Conference 2027 takes place on April 16, 2027, 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the University of Houston-Downtown. Download the SRC Guidelines. All UHD community members are invited. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Mary Jo Parker, SA Executive Director at parkerm@uhd.edu.

Past Conferences

We are pleased to present the proceedings of our past Annual UHD Student Research Conferences sponsored by several federal, state agencies, and the UHD Scholars Academy in the College of Sciences and Technology. Over 300 guests, faculty, and students attended the Spring 2019 conference, in which 140 undergraduate authors and co-authors from UHD presented a total of 8 oral presentations and 87 poster presentations.

Research presented resulted from projects conducted by our students at UHD and elsewhere in national competitive academic internships and corporate programs. We are proud of the effort that these high-achieving students put into their research presentations, and we trust that each presenter found their experience challenging and rewarding. The research conducted by many of these students has served as a springboard for participation in local, regional and national conferences.
