Jazz, Movies, and Family Stories: A Conversation with Terence Blanchard

Slated for 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 8, “A Conversation with Terence Blanchard” is part of the 2024 Fall President’s Lecture Series and will be held in the TDECU Tour Room in the Welcome Center of UHD, 201 Girard. KTSU 90.9 General Manager Ernest Walker will join the two cousins on stage and moderate the conversation. The event is free and open to the public and a complimentary lunch will be provided.

LatinFest Caps Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations With Cultural Showcase

The month-long Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at UHD culminates in LatinFest, a cultural showcase featuring performances by Danza Azteca, Danza Garifuna, the Conjunto Cultural Appreciation Student Organization, and a Selena Tribute Show. The event takes place on Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. in ACAD300.

Celebrating 50 Years in Grand Style: UHD’s 50th Anniversary Gala

UHD pulled out all the stops to celebrate five decades of educational excellence at its 50th Anniversary Gala, held at the Hilton Americas-Houston on Saturday, October 12, 2024, and emceed by retired KPRC 2 meteorologist and show host Khambrel Marshall. Nearly $300k was raised to support student scholarships.
