ORIENTATION FAQS
New Student Orientation is a mandatory experience for incoming students where you'll begin your transition to UHD and become acclimated to campus. During orientation, you will meet with an advisor, register for classes, learn about campus life, meet other Gators and connect with the UHD community.
New Student Orientation is designed to prepare you for your first semester and beyond at UHD.
Follow the steps below to sign up for New Student Orientation:

- Log in to myUHD or by visiting uhd.edu/myuhd
- Select the Orientation tile
- Click “RSVP for Freshman Orientation” link to view available sessions
- Choose a Freshman Orientation session and complete the registration form
Do I Have to Attend New Student Orientation?
- All incoming freshmen students are required to attend New Student Orientation. At
Orientation, freshmen will complete both academic advising and class registration.
- All 2026-2027 high school graduates are REQUIRED to attend New Student Orientation regardless of if they are transferring credits into UHD.
Transfer students who have been to a community college or university and have not graduated from high school in 2026-2027 are strongly encouraged to take part in New Student Orientation, however, it is not required. - Please note: Virtual orientation is available only to transfer students. First-time freshmen must attend orientation in person.
You will be required to complete a new admissions application.
Registration for New Student Orientation will open on October 19. Once admitted, you will receive an invite to sign up.
Registration for New Student Orientation will open in March 2027 for students planning to enroll in the Summer or Fall 2027 terms.
Orientation Fees and Refunds
As part of the orientation experience, there is a one-time orientation fee of $125. This fee helps cover the cost of various orientation activities, materials, meals, and events designed to ensure a smooth transition to university life. All orientation fees for students are non-refundable. The orientation fee will be added to your tuition and fee statement.
