Safety Matters—on campus, online, and in everyday life. Don’t Be a Victim is an engaging, practical workshop series designed to equip students, faculty, and staff with knowledge, awareness, and hands-on skills to protect themselves and others in a rapidly changing world.

This dynamic series goes beyond traditional lectures to include demonstration and practice sessions. It will include food for thought and strategies for action. Participants will learn how to recognize risks before they escalate, respond confidently in challenging situations, and build habits that promote personal and community safety. Each session is led by experienced professionals who bring real-world insights and actionable strategies you can apply immediately.

"Spots are limited—register today and take the first step toward becoming informed, prepared, and confident in any situation."

Hands-On Self-Defense Training

In addition to three expert-led talks, the series includes six interactive self-defense sessions. These sessions will take you from a beginner-friendly introduction to self-defense techniques to a more advanced level, empowering participants of all experience levels to feel stronger, safer, and more prepared. Participants will practice techniques to:

➢ Break free from common holds

Respond effectively under pressure

➢ Increase awareness and confidence

➢ De-escalate threatening situations

These six sessions will take you from a beginner-friendly introduction to self-defense techniques to a more advanced level, empowering participants of all experience levels to feel stronger, safer, and more prepared.
