The Bayou’s Best Showcase is returning this fall, offering the UHD community an opportunity to celebrate some of the university’s most outstanding students!

Participation begins with a nomination by Friday, Sept. 18. Faculty and staff can nominate individuals they believe embody the spirit, excellence, and determination that define UHD. Students can nominate other students, too! After nominations are reviewed, selected students will be invited to apply and compete in the showcase.

Scheduled for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the Wilhelmina Cullen Robertson Auditorium, the annual pageant-style event highlights undergraduate and graduate students from UHD’s four academic colleges. The showcase celebrates each competing student’s academic achievements, leadership, involvement, and personal accomplishments that make them exceptional representatives of the Gator community.

Contestants will compete in four categories: School Pride, Academic and Career Aspirations, Community Impact, and a Question-and-Answer segment. Together, these categories highlight the many ways students contribute to campus life, pursue their goals, and make a difference in their communities.

Beyond the competition itself, Bayou’s Best serves as a gateway to one of UHD’s premier student ambassador programs. Winners represent the university at events throughout the year and may also be considered for prestigious leadership opportunities, including student representative positions at the institutional and state level.

Everyone is encouraged to check out the Bayou’s Best homepage to learn more and to RSVP for the event on CampusGroups.
