UHD's 79th commencement ceremonies on Dec. 12 brought Gator graduates and their loved ones to NRG Arena to celebrate our students’ grit, dedication, and perseverance.
During the first ceremony, graduates of the Marilyn Davies College of Business and the College of Public Service crossed the stage. Prior to that, they were treated to a performance from Mariachi Emperadores de Mexico.
The keynote address was delivered by Harris County Commissioner for Precinct 4, Lesley Briones, while sisters Daisy Lisette Flores and Elsy Denise Flores, both graduates of the Urban Education program, provided the student remarks.
The second ceremony honored graduates of the College of Sciences & Technology and the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The student speaker was Giana Testut, Psychology, while Khori Dastoor, General Director and CEO of Houston Grand Opera, delivered keynote remarks.
