Department of History, Humanities, and Languages

The Department of History, Humanities, and Languages offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in History, Humanities, Philosophy, and Spanish. The curriculum in these individual programs hones students’ interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills through critical inquiry, research, and debate. Our graduates have gone on to graduate school and into positions such as managers, teachers, lawyers, interpreters/translators, research analysts, and a variety of other fields where these skills are highly valued.

Spanish Professor, Raquel Chiquillo is Part of a UHD Team Awarded Grant from Connecting Communities Digital Initiative (CCDI)

Dr. Chiquillo and other UHD staff have been awarded a grant for Discovering Afro-Latino Heritage: A Reflective Story Map Project to Enhance Student Belongingness and Learning.  Read more about the CCDI Grant
